This is the final installment of my How to Make an Electric Bass 24 Video Series. These two videos wrap up the build, and show pictures of the final instrument. It was a pleasure making this series, and sharing it with everyone.
The Book Store is Now Open! Happy Building!
The two final videos cover the knobs, and then there is a slideshow of the final instrument. I had a small window of time to build this guitar, so the knobs never made it onto the bass when I gave it to the customer. I ended up using metal barrel knobs, which looked fine. The wooden knobs were more to show the process for making knobs anyway.
I am hoping to make another video series for an acoustic guitar or another electric guitar in the future. It has been very busy in the shop, but these videos are so much fun to share. I have always like watching videos on how things are made, and it is even more fun making them yourself. Once I find a nice build that I can share, I hope to make another series.
How to Make an Electric Bass 24 Video Series Part 23 “Knobs”
This video wraps up the process with the wooden knobs. Polishing the knobs is not completely necessary, but it adds a nice look. You can also use a gloss finish, which will have a similar effect to polishing. If you spray them with the same lacquer as the instrument, they will match well.

It was down to the wire to finish this instrument by the due date. Once I realized I was behind schedule, I had to skip the final video and settle for pictures. These are pictures of the final instrument, as well as the happy customer. He is a young man in a jazz band, and really enjoyed the bass. Skipping a little film time allowed me to finish the bass just in time.
